Monte Pianbello

Con i suoi 1125 metri d'altezza, fa parte delle Prealpi varesine , situandosi tra il lago di Ghirla e il Lago Maggiore; è di origine vulcanica.

Come il Monte Orsa e il Pravello, anche il Monte Piambello offre la possibilità di scorgere alcuni resti bellici della Linea Cadorna, risalente alla grande guerra.

Le escursioni sul monte possono essere anche di grande valenza geologica, per via del Sass de Bol, grande monolite di porfido rosso sul quale sono stati intagliati dei gradini che permettono di raggiungerne la sommità e godere di uno splendido panorama.
